The discussion about the arts and health reminded me that I had wanted to
post information about an interesting CD that I purchased in New Orleans
recently. The CD is called "Get You a Healin'" and is all blues music. All
of the songs have something to do with health (e.g., Lousiana Medicine Man,
Virus Called the Blues) or -- in a couple of cases, stretching it to cover
parts of the body (e.g., Don't You Feel My Legs). What interested me about
the CD is that proceeds from it go to the LSU Medical Foundation
exclusively to support patient care at the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic
N(NOMC) at the LSU Medical Center. They have a web site (doesn't everyone)
http://www.lsumc.edu/foundation/ and the phone number is 504-568-3712.

Although the CD and the NOMC do not mention literacy -- it could! So, Terry
Davis, go talk to them! We don't want to lose any more New Orleans blues
musicians prematurely!
