Colleagues,

The message below is from Archie Willard and concerns the VALUE conference.
Many of you voiced keen interest in Archie's comments after last year's
conference on Literacy and Health. It sounds as though this conference will be just
as interesting and VALUable!

All the Best,

Meta Potts, Moderator 4-EFF List

Subject: VALUE Leadership Institute

VALUE is hosting its fourth adult leadership institute March 8-10, in
Washington DC. VALUE’S mission is to strengthen adult literacy in the United
States through learner involvement and leadership. Adult learner involvement
plays a critical role in U.S. efforts to improve literacy programs
recruitment, research, and resource development.

Where would adult literacy be today without VALUE? What direction would adult
literacy go without the voices of adult learners? It is important that
society
is aware of and sees adult learners who have made improvements in their lives.

VALUE needs the support and encouragement from the literacy field. We need
financial support, in-kind support, and for you to send your adult literacy
students to this conference. I’m also asking you as professionals to come to
the conference. You need to get to know us as adult learners and we need to
find ways to work together to take adult literacy into the future. Please
come
and join.
