Looking for a way to integrate research-based reading instruction into
your Equipped for the Future approach? Look no further. Teaching Adults
to Read with Understanding is here!

Teaching Adults to Read with Understanding uses the Read With
Understanding content standard and the Teaching and Learning Cycle to
integrate research-based reading instruction into Equipped for the
Future's contextualized approach to teaching and learning. Interactive
workshops feature hands-on activities; interim activities and technical
assistance help teachers implement new instructional activities.

Teaching Adults to Read with Understanding is a professional development
course for adult literacy and family literacy program personnel.
Developed through a partnership between the National Institute for
Literacy and the National Center for Family Literacy, Teaching Adults to
Read with Understanding offers staff development and technical
assistance options to fit state and program schedules.

For more information about Teaching Adults to Read with Understanding,
see the EFF Center for Training and Technical Assistance display at
COABE or contact Diane Gardner at 865-974-8426 or eff@utk.edu.
